ouch

Since my hands have kept me from knitting for the Entire Week, I was desperate last night to find some way to be crafty and creative that wouldn't make me cringe. Enter my mostly-despised acrylics and a canvas I keep repainting because I keep hating how my ideas turned out.

It does hurt a bit to really force on those acrylics, which don't like to be as opaque as they should be. I'd been thinking about something like this for a while, but was planning on holding off with it until I brought my oil paints into the apartment finally. I'm happy with how it came out, especially in terms of color, although I wish I'd been more careful with the edges of the flower - with acrylics I have been trying to do this thing where I make all the colors and edges really blurry and use a lot of different colors together in one main color, splashed around, and I'm usually happy with the effect. Here, it's just not working. Oh well! I'm psyched. Today my parents are bringing in my oil paints and some unfinished and blank canvases so in the next few weeks I hope to have more time for stuff like this. Whee!
